# Troubleshoot Databricks

Find solutions to common issues when reading and writing Databricks data directly from Agentic Workflows in Kizen.

{% hint style="success" %}
**Audience:** Admins, Developers, Solution Architects

**Purpose:** Describes troubleshooting methods for issues with the Databricks integration
{% endhint %}

The following table presents solutions to common issues with the Databricks integration. For additional help, see the [Databricks documentation](https://www.databricks.com/databricks-documentation).

<table data-search="false"><thead><tr><th>Issue</th><th>Cause</th><th>What to do</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>You received an error message that reads: <code>Expected a single value result, but the query returned multiple rows or columns</code>.</td><td>The Return Single Value input flag of the Read Data action is <code>yes</code>, but the query selected more than one row or column.</td><td>Adjust your query to select exactly one value.</td></tr><tr><td>You received an error message that reads: <code>Error while using Databricks Connection</code>.</td><td>You have bad Databricks credentials.</td><td>Review the error message for more details. Update your integration secret.</td></tr><tr><td>You received an error message that reads: <code>Error decoding JSON</code>.</td><td>Your integration secret isn't valid JSON.</td><td>Update your integration secret.</td></tr><tr><td>You received an error message that reads: <code>Missing required key(s)</code>.</td><td>Your integration secret is missing one or more of the <code>host</code>, <code>warehouse_id</code>, and <code>token</code> keys.</td><td>Update your integration secret.</td></tr><tr><td>You received the <strong>HTTP 401 Unauthorized</strong> status code.</td><td>Your PAT is bad or expired.</td><td>Generate a new PAT.</td></tr><tr><td>You received the <strong>HTTP 403 Forbidden</strong> status code.</td><td>Your PAT has insufficient privileges.</td><td>Review the privileges, and assign the necessary ones.</td></tr><tr><td>You received the <strong>HTTP 404 Not Found</strong> status code.</td><td>The integration can't find the specified Databricks Utility Catalog or schema</td><td>Confirm the name of the Utility Catalog and schema.</td></tr><tr><td>Your API request failed.</td><td>The request exceeded your SQL Warehouse's capacity.</td><td>Reduce how often the <code class="expression">space.vars.automation</code> runs, narrow results with <code>LIMIT</code>, or combine multiple lookups into a single query.</td></tr><tr><td>You received an empty string.</td><td>The query ran successfully but matched no rows.</td><td>This is expected behavior. An empty result returns <code>""</code>, not null.</td></tr><tr><td>You received no results for a large query.</td><td>The results set is larger than 25 MB.</td><td>Target your query with <code>LIMIT</code>.</td></tr></tbody></table>

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://developer.kizen.com/docs/integrations-and-apps/integrations/databricks/troubleshoot-databricks.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
