Troubleshoot Google Sheets
Audience: Admins, Developers, Solution Architects
Purpose: Describes troubleshooting methods for issues with the Google Sheets integration
The following table presents solutions to common issues with the Google Sheets integration. For additional help, see the Google Sheets API Overview.
You can't read data from a sheet.
The integration's Google account doesn't have view permissions on the sheet.
Ask the owner of the sheet to grant view permissions to the integration's associated Google account.
You can't append or update data on a sheet.
The integration's Google account doesn't have edit permissions on the sheet.
Ask the owner of the sheet to grant edit permissions to the integration's associated Google account.
You received an error that you requested too much data during a Get Rows or Search Rows action.
You tried to retrieve more than 50,000 characters of data from the sheet.
For Get Rows, narrow the results with a filter column and filter value. For Search Rows, use a more specific match value.
Google Sheets converted the text you added to a sheet to a different data type.
This is expected behavior. Google Sheets treats your data as if you had typed it directly onto the sheet.
To keep cell data as a string, prefix it with an apostrophe, like this: '001.
You received the HTTP 429 Too Many Requests status code.
Your request exceeded the rate limits of the Google Sheets API.
Check the action in the Agentic Workflow. Target the query to return fewer results. Reduce the frequency of the action.
