# Configuring Twilio SMS

**Purpose:** Explains how to configure the Twilio integration in <code class="expression">space.vars.Kizen\_company\_name</code> for SMS messaging, including prerequisites, setup steps, configuration limitations, and compliance responsibilities.

## Overview

The Twilio integration allows businesses to send SMS messages from <code class="expression">space.vars.Kizen\_company\_name</code> using their own Twilio account credentials. <code class="expression">space.vars.Kizen\_company\_name</code> does not provide Twilio accounts or phone numbers. Instead, an existing Twilio account is connected by providing the required authentication credentials and selecting a Twilio phone number to use for messaging.

## Before You Begin <a href="#when-to-use-postalytics" id="when-to-use-postalytics"></a>

Before configuring the Twilio integration in <code class="expression">space.vars.Kizen\_company\_name</code>, ensure you have:

* An active Twilio account
* Access to the [Twilio Console](https://www.twilio.com/login?g=%2Fconsole%26%3F\&t=210671893b520f9fa016ab5a716ce1636e6c902836752e763d1dba5d2eac37ff)
* A Twilio phone number capable of sending SMS
* Your Twilio **Account SID**
* Your Twilio **Auth Token**

1. Log into the **Twilio Console**.
2. Locate the **Account SID** and **Auth Token.**
3. Copy the **Account SID** and save it.
4. Copy the **Auth Token** and save it.
5. Identify the Twilio phone number to use and save it.

<code class="expression">space.vars.Kizen\_company\_name</code> supports configuration of one Twilio phone number per business. If your Twilio account contains multiple numbers, you must select a single number to use in <code class="expression">space.vars.Kizen\_company\_name</code>. If your SMS traffic is United States–based, ensure your Twilio account complies with [A2P 10DLC requirements](https://help.twilio.com/articles/1260800720410-What-is-A2P-10DLC-) before proceeding.

#### Select **ADD TWILIO ACCOUNT**

#### Paste your Twilio **Account SID**, **Auth Token**, and Phone Number&#x20;

Include the country code (Example: +1). Select **SAVE**.

Upon selecting **SAVE**:

* <code class="expression">space.vars.Kizen\_company\_name</code> performs a validation check against Twilio.
* If Twilio rejects the credentials, an error message is displayed.
* The entered credentials are still saved, but SMS messaging will not function until the issue is resolved in Twilio.

If validation fails, the business must resolve the issue directly within the **Twilio Console**. Once the Twilio configuration is valid, <code class="expression">space.vars.Kizen\_company\_name</code> will use the saved credentials to send SMS messages.&#x20;

## Important Limitations

* Only one Twilio phone number can be configured per business.
* All SMS messages are sent from that configured number.
* <code class="expression">space.vars.Kizen\_company\_name</code> does not manage A2P 10DLC registration on behalf of the business.
* <code class="expression">space.vars.Kizen\_company\_name</code> does not surface detailed delivery failure logs.
* Compliance, consent, and carrier approval are the responsibility of the business.

**Note:** SMS messages sent through Twilio from <code class="expression">space.vars.Kizen\_company\_name</code> consume messaging credits associated with your license. Ensure your business has sufficient messaging credits available before sending high-volume or automated SMS messages.
