Postalytics
Audience: Admins, Developers, Automation Builders, Support & Operation teams, and Solution Architects
Purpose: Explains what the Postalytics integration is, when to use it, and how it works within Kizen.
Overview
Postalytics is a direct mail automation integration that allows you to send physical mail from Kizen using Contact and record data. It connects digital workflows with offline mail delivery, making it easy to trigger, track, and manage mail sends alongside your other outreach.
What is Postalytics?
Postalytics allows businesses to send physical mail, such as postcards or letters, programmatically through APIs and automated workflows.
When integrated with Kizen, a Contact record action or automation triggers the mail, which Postalytics then prints and sends.
When to Use Postalytics
Postalytics is best used when you want to send physical mail as part of a workflow, either manually or automatically.
Common use cases
Sending a one-time Birthday card or postcard to a specific Contact
Welcome or follow-up mail after an event
Triggering mail as part of an onboarding or lifecycle workflow
Automating mail sends at scale using Automations
How the Integration Works
Before configuring the Postalytics app, it’s important to understand how the integration behaves at a high level.
Integration model
Kizen sends Contact data to Postalytics when a send is triggered
Postalytics response has a "send-date" key which is used to determine if it succeeded. However, the response is not visible to the user.
Send behavior
Sends are asynchronous
Kizen receives an immediate success or failure response
Printing and mailing occurs later within Postalytics
Send status and delivery tracking
Kizen does not store delivery or mailing status
To track print, mail, or delivery progress, use the Postalytics dashboard
Failure handling
If Postalytics is unavailable, sends fail immediately
Errors surface in the UI (manual sends) or as failed automation steps (automations)
Failed sends are not queued automatically for later retry
Retries
Both manual and automation-based sends automatically retry certain transient failures. If a send ultimately fails, users must resolve the issue and retry the send or rerun the automation.
Other failures must be retried manually after resolving the issue
Deduplication
Kizen does not deduplicate sends
The same Contact can receive the same campaign multiple times
Deduplication must be handled through automation logic or campaign rules
For setup instructions, see Enabling Postalytics.
Available Postalytics Actions
Once Postalytics is configured, Kizen exposes the Send Campaign Mail action on Contact records allowing you to do the following:
Field Mapping Reference
